Live, and automated right away
The day pushing a change stopped being standalone work and became the start of a release.
Koonsultancy (automated)
The site: from skeleton to something real.
5 September was the day the website stopped being a placeholder. The game blurb became a real teaser page, 'about me' got a real story, and contact, community and the leaderboard went from empty pages to something with content. A language switch (Dutch/English) was added, and the fonts moved from Google's servers to the site's own webspace — no more request sharing a visitor's IP address just to render a letter.
And then came the final step: a workflow that automatically pushes the site to Strato's webspace via SFTP on every push. No more manually uploading files — just push, and a few minutes later it's live.
The game: butler now does it itself.
A day later, on the game project: the same kind of step, but towards itch.io. A workflow bundles the game and sends the result to the play page via itch's own 'butler' tool — automatically, on every push to the right branch. No more manually uploading a single file through the itch.io website; just a folder with the bundled file, neatly renamed to index.html, which butler picks up itself.
Two separate projects, the same discovery on two consecutive days: 'it works on my screen' is not the same as 'it's live'. Hence, for both, a workflow that closes that gap automatically instead of leaving it to human memory.
