PRIVACY
Privacy, without the fuss.
Short version: this site doesn’t track you, sets no cookies for visitors and shares nothing with third parties. It only counts, anonymously, how often a page gets viewed. Details below.
01 / WHO
No tracking,
no cookies.
Koonsultancy is a trade name of KoonSystems. KoonSystems is the controller for the data on this site; privacy for the business products is at koonsystems.com/privacy.
Fonts are hosted on this server itself, so your IP address isn’t sent to Google just to show text. Language and dark/light are remembered in localStorage, not a cookie. There are no external embeds; the trailer is hosted on this site.
02 / IF YOU EMAIL
You can email.
We won’t keep it longer than needed.
This site has no contact form, only a mailto link to info@koonsultancy.com. If you email, that message (with your email address and its contents) lands in our mailbox, only so we can reply. It is never resold, never used for marketing, and not kept longer than the conversation needs.
03 / HOSTING AND THE COUNTER
Where this lives,
and what gets counted.
This site runs on webspace at Strato, in the Netherlands/EU. Standard server logs (as with almost any host) may briefly hold technical data such as IP address and time; they are not actively analysed or used.
Each page view adds one to a counter: per day the page, the language and, if you came from another site, only that site’s domain name. A click on a play button is counted the same way. The game itself counts three moments: a run starts, the first engagement is won, and a run ends, with the game version and where you play (here, itch.io or the desktop version). No IP address, no cookie, nothing about your device and nothing that links two visits to each other or to you: only daily totals. That needs no consent. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted.
04 / THE LEADERBOARD
Sharing a score
is a choice.
After a run you can put your final score on the leaderboard, always with a separate button and never automatically. You do that as a guest: you give no email address and create no account, you only pick a name yourself. If you play on itch.io or from a downloaded file, the game opens this site with your score in the link; it is only stored once you press the button here. We then store your revenue, a few game details (firm, partner tier, round, scope, your run’s seed and whether it was the daily challenge) and the name you chose, in a database on the same webspace at Strato. So don’t pick a name people know you by if you’d rather they didn’t.
To stop anyone from stuffing the board in one go, the server counts how many scores arrive per sender. Your IP address itself isn’t stored for this, only an irreversible derivative (a hash with a key that changes every day), and even that is deleted after 24 hours. That falls under legitimate interest (preventing abuse).
If you play here at koonsultancy.com/play/, your browser keeps your progress and a copy of the game on your own device (localStorage and an offline cache), so it also works without internet and can be installed. That stays on your device. If you open the leaderboard in the game, it fetches the list from koonsultancy.com at that moment; nothing about you is stored when it does. Want a score removed? Email the name you used and which score it is.
05 / CRASH REPORTS
If the game falls over,
you decide whether we hear about it.
If the game stops unexpectedly, it shows you at the next start what happened just before: the game version, the screen and the steps leading up to it, a few technical counts and your browser’s identification string (the user-agent). That stays on your device. Only if you tap "Send to the developer" yourself does exactly that text go to koonsultancy.com.
No name, email address or score is sent, and we link a report to nothing and no one. To guard against a flood, the server counts per sender, using the same irreversible hash as the leaderboard, deleted after 24 hours. The reports sit in the same database at Strato, only the admin can read them, and they are deleted automatically after 180 days. That falls under legitimate interest: keeping the game working.
06 / QUESTIONS OR RIGHTS
Access, correction, or deletion?
Want to know what we have on you, or want a score or an earlier email removed? Feel free to reach out.
